1. What this software is

TideView is research and analysis software: charting, scripting, backtesting, walk-forward validation, AI-assisted analysis, replay and reporting. Its operator, TideView, does not provide investment advisory, portfolio management or brokerage services, and the product cannot place or execute orders. Nothing on this site or in the product is investment advice, a recommendation, or a solicitation to trade any instrument.

2. Trading risk

Trading stocks, futures, FX and crypto involves substantial risk. You can lose some or all of your capital, and with leveraged products potentially more than your initial outlay.

  • Prices move on factors no analysis fully captures;
  • Liquidity, spreads and volatility can make real fills far worse than modeled ones;
  • Leverage amplifies losses as well as gains;
  • Crypto markets add technology, custody and regulatory risks of their own.

Only trade with capital you can afford to lose, and consider advice from a licensed professional where appropriate.

3. Limits of backtesting and simulation

Backtests, walk-forward runs and parameter optimizations are computed on historical data. Past or simulated performance never guarantees future results.

  • Historical results are sensitive to cost assumptions, data quality and survivorship effects;
  • Optimized parameters are prone to overfitting: strong in-sample results often fail out of sample;
  • Market regimes change; a strategy validated on one period can stop working;
  • Simulated fills do not experience real-world queue position, partial fills or exchange outages.

4. Limits of AI output

Features labeled “AI” produce machine-generated content. AI output can be wrong, biased or incomplete; it is organized information for reference, not professional advice, and it never issues buy or sell instructions. Verify anything material independently before acting on it.

5. Market data and latency

Market data comes from third-party providers. We do not guarantee its completeness, accuracy or timeliness. Data in TideView can be delayed and must not be used as the basis for live order execution. Confirm prices with your exchange or broker feed before trading.

6. Your responsibility

You make your own trading decisions and bear their outcomes. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we accept no liability for decisions made in reliance on any feature or content of the product, including screening results, pattern marks, AI analysis and backtest reports.
